Notably, unlike many other providers, the encryption and decryption processes occur solely on the client devices, ensuring that our servers do not have access to unencrypted data.

User can upload files directly from smartphones or tablets and perform actions such as searching, downloading, streaming, viewing, sharing, renaming, or deleting files from any device and location. Folder sharing with contacts allows real-time updates, facilitating collaborative management.

The platform supports automatic synchronization of local data with cloud storage, guaranteeing that important files remain secure and accessible across all devices. This synchronization can be configured for effortless backup of specific local folders through its dedicated functionality, including one-way sync options for data backup purposes.

MEGA’s robust end-to-end encryption ensures privacy and security. Users must retain their account password and recovery key, as the company cannot access or reset them. Loss of both credentials results in permanent loss of data access.

The service extends encrypted communication features through secure one-on-one and group chats and meetings. Thanks to zero-knowledge encryption protocols, messages, audio, and video calls are protected from third-party access, enabling secure collaboration within teams or with family and friends. The integrated ecosystem allows seamless transfer of encrypted files within chat sessions.

MEGA provides a generous amount of free storage upon registration. Additional free space can be earned in increments of 5 GB via the MEGA Achievements Program.

Subscription plans are set to renew automatically for subsequent periods of identical duration and cost unless canceled. Management of subscriptions is straightforward through the Google Play Store interface by signing in with your Google account and selecting the MEGA app.
